The TITAN Automatik operating table – with sensor controlled drive unit and a complete product range of fully radiolucent materials (carbon) – stands for a non railbound system for intraoperative diagnosis and operation. It is a new development in the field of intraoperative diagnosis.

The system is characterized by the fact that the operating table can move through a curved, sensor-controlled path without rails, which enables intraoperative X-ray diagnosis without rebedding the patient.

The patient can be easily moved back and forward between the operating table and diagnostic unit before, during and after the operation – safely, without vibration, and with a low nursing staff requirement. The realization of sensor-controlled path curves enables the system to be adapted to any room layout, and the diagnostic unit and the operating table to be located in separate rooms. This makes this allpurpose system very flexible. As well as installation in new hospital facilities, it can also be easily retrofitted in existing buildings with diagnostic units without major structural alterations.

The patient can be moved, without rebedding, to a defined point where the diagnosis can be made. It may be necessary to scan the patient in the CT several times in order to assess the progress of the operation. The operating table has to be very precisely positioned in order to obtain comparable CT images and a high standard of repeating accuracy.

This enables hospital efficiency to be increased, the quality of care to be improved and costs to be reduced – which is of great interest to commercially operating hospitals.
